Reading some of the media coverage of the "optics" of Trump choosing Doral and "questions of conflicts of interest"...

Guys. This is way beyond optics and conflicts.

This is literally the dictionary definition of corruption.

Public officials who do this in cities GO TO PRISON.
I mean, I'm trying to imagine the leads if Trump were actually to shoot someone on Fifth Avenue.

"Shrugging off the optics of murder, the president confounded his critics yet again, shredding another norm by gunning down someone on a busy midtown street."
For example:

If someone on the site selection committee had a sister-in-law whose accounting firm had a contract with Doral, THAT would be a conflict of interest.
If the site selection committee were considering a resort that had on its board of directors a major donor to the president, THAT would be an “optics” problem.
This situation is neither of those.

The president has given himself an eight-figure government contract.

It’s that simple.

THE PRESIDENT HAS GIVEN HIMSELF AN EIGHT-FIGURE GOVERNMENT CONTRACT.
Colleagues have asked if giving oneself a federal contract actually violates any federal laws.

Well, as a matter of fact, YES.

This is what's known as a felony.
And no, none of the exceptions apply.

Read them.
So -- to conclude:

This is not a He Said She Said story.

This is a He is Committing Naked Corruption Right In Front of Our Eyes story.
