This amendment deserves to pass for the simple reason that all MPs should understand the details of the Brexit deal before voting for or against. A simple matter of democratic legitimacy and accountability.
It should not be considered pro-remain or pro-leave to want the details of the deal. Just pro-good governance. It has been a lingering problem throughout negotiations that Government has had to be dragged to doing the right thing (which didn't stop a deal being agreed)
Incidentally my own expectation is that this deal will be passed by Parliament, which only strengthens my view that MPs should know what they are voting for and should in particular be asking Government for clarity on their plans for the next 14 months.
