Leaving Chennai after 2.5 years.

Here's a small thread on this city by a North Indian who lived outside his state for the first time.

Chennai is very cheap compared to other metros - good food, rent, travel everything.

I've once travelled 45 km in 20 Rs in local train under 1 hour 🙌

You can find lunch meals, evening dinner - dosas, idli under 100 in almost all good restaurants

2/

Language problem:

I haven't learned a single Tamil words than 'Tamil Teriyada'. I should've though, but it hasn't given me any trouble, ever! Works like a charm 😅

In difficult conversations, I've always got other people (who understands hindi/eng + tamil) helping me 😇

Culture:

Movies & Politics are closely connected everyone's heart, you should not step on that nerve. You might don't know, whom you end up hurting with.

People:

All the people are helpful & never says no to offering help.

'Super' word is this city's jam 😛. Use it anywhere in the sentence & they'll consider you their own.

It was all in all Super experience. Would always cherish the time spent here 💯

Learned a lot about culture here, it's really deep & fascinating. Just an amazing part of India being such diverse nation! 🇮🇳
