it's funny how well the whole Syria thing has gone yet the media is just crazy about bad things that should be happening but somehow isn't.

They really want a conflict. It's being denied them and they do NOT like it one bit. The analysis is always the same, too.
2) Mainly that 'Russia and Iran will be emboldened'. To do exactly WHAT is never addressed. They always fall back on it's 'not good for our national security interests'.

That, too, is rarely if ever defined. Usually some amorphous amalgam; nothing ever to hang your hat on.
3) Usually it's 'defending an ally', which now is the tiny fluid nation of Kurdistan. A victim of WW I. They and the Turks have been at odds for some time.

Our presence only makes a difference if it's multi generational occupation.
4) The Turks are actually our 'ally'.

They are in NATO after all. Remember when POTUS mused about it's reason to exist?

This is why. One NATO member called another and said an 'incursion' was about to happen. You don't have to help but get your guys out of the way.
5) The Kurds are an 'alliance'.

There IS a difference. They come and they go.

South Vietnam was an alliance. Teddy Kennedy led a betrayal on them that cost millions of lives.

The Post and Times were silent.
6) So, POTUS found a way to rid the United States of more nation building in the Middle East, allowed the regional players (Turkey, Russia) to form a solution.

It is working so far and this makes the DS media even more mad.
7) They think 'it's all go to go wrong'.

Even the FOX quasi conservatives go apoplectic over the possibility of losing some control over these regions.

Under the guise of fighting terrorism.
8) Problem is the US is creating at least as much terrorism in these places as it hopes to prevent. They would have to be colonized for a century.

Their behavior is ingrained.
9) None of this comes as any surprise to you.

It is really quite obvious. What isn't is the real reason why the politicians and the media don't want you to know.

Greed, power and corruption.

It does it everytime.
10)) The 'aggrieved' here is the faceless bureaucratic universe. The permanent government. Lifetime positions right out of a privileged college.

Perpetuating it is expensive, and funding endless war pays for a LOT...
