2) Even the fake polls aren't helping much; they show middling support for his actions. What they DON'T do is ask people if they want to stay in Syria.

Those numbers would be overwhelming.
3) DJT just called Pelosi a 'third rate politician' and told them of the 'communists that surround them'. This is all true.

2) she conflates -deliberately- the PKK with the rank and file Kurds. There are 4 million Kurdish refugees in Turkey now.

They are NOT being harmed. Why would he 'ethnic cleanse' in Syria when he is taking care of millions in his own country?
3) It seems that Shep Smith leaving hasn't changed the slant of this hour; even Trace Gallagher is playing up the TDS that Smith lived for.

the @FoxNews crew is in full neocon mode now.

The whining about Syria -which is NOT our concern- is epic. The fact that Russian and Syrian forces are moving in where we left is a GOOD THING.

They have a vested interest in some sort of regional solution.
2) The DS wants to topple Assad, which will throw the entire area into a complete disaster. There are millions of Palestinians -enemies of Israel- living there.

The black hats don't care.

They want WAR.
3) The religious nutjob factor is off the scale. They see their fantasy of the Final Battle on the plains of Megiddo
('ah Megiddo'= armageddon) disappearing. This explains the likes of wahhabists, kabbalists, fundamentalist Christians (Pat Robertson, etc) and Mormon concern.

as POTUS makes the very wise (measure it in opposition squared) decision to exit Syria the question begs to be asked?

Why are we there AT ALL?
2) That's the $64 question, the 800 lb gorilla in the room.

It lurks everywhere and people avoid it's gaze. But the shadow is all prevailing. Syria has absolutely ZERO strategic import to the US now, thanks to energy independence.
3) The only reasons are geopolitical, and they affect others who interact with us which is an issue. But Israel was just put back in the box.

Give them the state security they need and say 'best of luck, call us if there's trouble while we go back to business.

1/ I was looking through twitter today and saw how much people mistrust forecasts of the election. We are pretty bad at thinking probabilistically and it seems as if once a candidate is somewhere over 60% we default to assuming they are 100% to win
2/ so if they lose we declare the forecast (or the polls) wrong! This is, of course, aided and abetted by a lot of pundits. It’s very frustrating because I am not sure how we can fix the problem.
3/ Certainty is what people want. They don’t want to hear that one candidate is 25% and the other 75%. They want to know for sure. And the pundits are often more than happy to give them what they want, offering more certainty than the data offers.
