I’m on an OPay bike trying to make a 10:30 flight from Lagos to Abuja. (Missed the same flight yesterday because traffic defeated me.) No fewer than 3 bikes are following my driver telling us that he cannot enter the airport
So many people started to join in, telling the driver that they will fine him 20,000 because OPay is not allowed inside the airport. How? Finally one Okada man blocked our path. 
After some back & forth I agreed to get down from the OPay bike & enter his bike. My Uber from VI charged me 2,100 naira. The OPay app charged me 100 naira (but since the drivers are heavily subsidized, I think the driver will get 200). The second okada man charged me 500 naira.
I was not impressed by all the stress. Even the second okada man had to drop me at the edge of MM2 because bikes cannot enter the place. But I cannot miss the same flight two days in a row! No sir, no thank you!
Now I’m in the security check line. Side note: it is weird that the airport has to employ someone to scan our boarding passes so that the automated gate before the X-ray scam will open. Isn’t the automated gate supposed to replace the person?
Another side note: how come OPay doesn’t automatically debit your trip at its conclusion? The OPay man was looking at me like a lost puppy as I sped away on the bike of the second okada man. It was only when I entered MM2 that I realized I still had to approve his payment.
OPay is weird, sha. First, you have to load money into your main wallet. Then you have to transfer money from your main wallet to your bike wallet. Huh?
In the queue for the X-ray, Lebanese looking guy tried to jump me because he said his flight was leaving soon. My flight is actually boarding right now, dude. Take a seat. Take several seats.
Kind lady running the X-ray tells me to use another machine because hers is blocked. Unkind lady on the other side of X-ray tries to take my (empty) coffee cup. Can a coffee cup really be used as a weapon? 🧐

I gather my things and rush to join the queue. No time for 🍩 this morning... issok. The fact that I made my flight is a blessing. Empty bele can be sorted later. Now sitting comfortably next to a nice lady behind whom I queued when I was getting onto the plane.
We’re gonna make it after all!
