Also, why is the mainstream media still ignoring the fact that Donald Trump used Deutsche Bank to blackmail Justice Kennedy into resigning so he could nominate Kavanaugh? Scandal of the century.
But back to Buttigieg’s point. The only way to expand the court to 15, and make it sustainable, is to pack it with center-leftists who are just barely on the correct side of the most important issues. Otherwise you eventually still end up with a majority of far-right extremists.
And keep in mind these democratic candidates are all trying to solve a problem with no easy solution: there’s a FUCKING RAPIST and extremist maniac on the Supreme Court whose erratic voting record thus far suggests that he’s being blackmailed, and no easy way to remove him.
I personally believe the House will refer Kavanaugh for perjury to the DOJ the minute Trump is gone, and force him to cut a resignation plea deal. But that’s not a given (it wouldn’t work now because Trump would replace Kavanaugh with someone equally horrible).
As for Pete Buttigieg, I still like the guy. But his real scandal this week is that he’s reportedly asking Mark Zuckerberg – who’s currently being investigated by Congress for all sorts of awful things – for advice on hiring advisers. That needs to stop. Zuck can’t pick his jury.
