I'd guess there were more Nats fans in that stadium who'd read the Mueller Report than there are Republican members of Congress who've read it. Anyone familiar with that report would understand the empirical basis for a chant of "lock him up."
The Mueller Report is a long document. This podcast series offers a nice summation of the key findings of it. Episode 8 begins the section on Vol 2 of the report which focuses on obstruction. lawfareblog.com/report-episode…
And this, really, is the most important point in all of this. Trump's political culture is centered on the idea that you should indiscriminately lock up your political opponents on invented charges because the law is just a tool of power, not justice.
Last night's chants were a parody of that Trumpian political culture. The point was that karma is a bitch. They didn't make up that chant, they were mimicking his own audiences.
It's really not that hard to not do crimes. As we've learned from the reporting on his businesses and his payoffs to women he's had affairs with & his tax evasion & his obstruction & emoluments & Ukraine, etc etc....it seems difficult for this president to go a day w/o criming.
