In the past few days @KamalaHarris, the only black woman in the primary and one of only three black women to run for president (the others were Shirley Chisholm and Carol Moseley-Braun) has done some impressive work.

Harris challenged the President, she held a college accoubtable, she forced the other top Democrats to address CJR. She made a slew of headlines, but some misrepresented her work and others usurped it, crediting "Democrats" with her work.

Then @60Minutes gave @JoeBiden a free interview. With his wife as cheerleader. There was no rationale given for the interview at the former VP's home over days. Just an opportunity to bolster his flagging poll numbers & fundraising. No discussion of policy. No hard questions.

Now Harris could have used that free interview on @60Minutes. She has struggled in the polls as well and can use more money. But more importantly, Harris has actually been out on the trail doing major work. So why not her and her husband?

Then today, while Harris is one of only three candidates to appear at #JusticeVotes2020, Biden got MSM puff pieces in response to his @60Minutes interview for being tough on Trump because he called Trump an "idiot."

The way this free TV thing works is it saves candidates millions. @60Minutes is one of the top-rated shows. People not only watch, but they presume the show is offering an imprimatur to the candidate it is profiling when no one else is there.

@60Minutes There is was just a 7min segment on Biden's @60Minutes interview on @CNN featuring his top black surrogate, former Philly Mayor Mike Nutter. More free TV time for Biden. While Harris headlined a major CJR event that Biden did not show for.

@60Minutes @CNN Now I am just comparing these two things because I have been writing columns and other pieces about how women candidates have been shut out of the MSM reporting and TV access throughout. So Biden declared on @60Minutes that except for a few polls he was the frontrunner.

Yet @ewarren has been in a statistical tie with Biden for a couple months. She bests him in Iowa and NH. Where are the MSM interviews with her and her husband? Why is she the only candidate tasked with explaining how to pay for her healthcare plan? These are questions.

So when you DON'T hear about @KamalaHarris on the news tonight, check out @blackwomenviews --she has a thread on Harris at #JusticeVotes2020 which was important. But of course watch the @60Minutes interview too. But one is staged, the other is not. That matters.
