#translink 72-hour strike notice is out. If negotiations keep going poorly by Thursday night, Friday’s commute is going to be chaotic.
“Hire more drivers & buy more buses” feels like they’re striking more for my benefit than theirs!

We don’t yet know if the #translink #transitstrike will happen Thursday midnight.
We don’t know if it’ll be a full shutdown, rolling strike, or a work-to-rule slowdown as they fulfill exactly the parameters of their contract: bc.ctvnews.ca/all-options-ar…
It’s all TBD.
We have even more people using transit now. And unions are asking for things that benefit riders.
Now we have more ability to remote-work, car shares, bike shares, & more capacity to coordinate rides.
What’s your backup plan?
I teach at SFU & UBC. I don’t want students to miss out just because they can’t get to campus, so I’m looking into remote streaming lectures.
I’ll need to carshare for my narrative game design class: I’m not doing a winter night bike commute from UBC to north shore.
