I have some sad news. If you were following along yesterday you know we found a stray kitten on our property. The vet came today and after a blood test determined that the kitten has feline leukemia. We can’t keep her because she will give leukemia to our other cat. Our choices.. 
Our choices aren’t great. The vet made the recommendation we put the kitten down unless we can find someone who either has no cats and can keep the kitten indoors only or has another cat with leukemia. Cats with leukemia have lots of pain, infections and live maybe 1-3 years.
So I reach out to you Twitter. Does anyone have experience with cats that have feline leukemia? Do you live close enough to Nashville to take her in a home with no cats or one with cats who have it too? It’s highly contagious to other cats. Not the news we wanted to hear today.
Good news: We found a rescue that’ll take the kitty! They’re gonna do another round of testing to confirm the diagnosis and try to get her into a permanent home for leukemia cats. Worst case if she gets sicker quickly they’ll call before euthanizing so we can be there for her.
