What's more, millions of American Catholics disagree with aspects of the Church's dictates. I have been an out lesbian since high school and I have never considered my sexual orientation reason not to take communion, even though the Church considers my existence a "sin."
Anyone who wants to fight me on this, go right ahead. The Jesus I believe in knows my heart. Also--Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. Nor abortion. Mind your own souls, folks.
Read the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). THAT is the predicate for Christianity. If you aren't following it, you ain't Christian. The folks who should be denied communion are the ones putting kids in cages.
