That rally was a blast. High energy, one of the best times I've had in Rupp arena next to UK vs Louisville and WWE wrestling.

Being back home reminds me of how I got to be Boss's Fridge Intern. It's been a while since we had a good FI story.

It was Mitch McConnell that "introduced" me to Boss. I was his Coke Intern first.

I was a semester away from graduating UK with a degree in n Russian and Eastern Studies. Now before I get accused of anything nefarious, the simple reason I chose that major was because I hated math.

I'm thinking about what to do after graduation and think why not apply to the Patterson School of Diplomacy. So one day I'm in Patterson office tower getting info and Mitch McConnell happened to be there because he was giving a speech.

I ran into him in the bathroom on the Mezzanine level. He's standing in front of the sink looking a little tired.

One of my skills is the ability to know what people need and get it before they know they need it.

I introduced myself and told him I could help him make it though his speech.

Knowing Mitch is a Louisville guy, I called a guy I know in Pi Kappa Alpha who knows another PIKE at UL who hooked up Rick Pitino (don't act surprised).

20 minutes later Mitch is energized and ready to wow the crowd. I waited outside until he was done. Meanwhile, I called some Tri-Delts I knew were DTF to help set up some UK hospitality for the good senator.

Anyway, Mitch delays his return to Washington until the morning and tells me he wants me in his service once I graduate. Solves that problem.

Fast forward to January 2017. Trump is having a meeting with Mitch. I had done my research and new Boss was a Diet Coke man. As he entered the room I had a cold DC ready. Boss looked at it, looked at me, looked at Mitch and said "He's coming with me."
