Maybe I’m missing something, but according to the government’s own registration website EU citizens are (for the first time in history) eligible to vote in the general election
NB: Of course EU citizens can’t vote in a general election. But the government needs to sort this webpage out. Anyone who didn’t know the law would have every reason to believe that EU citizens were eligible to vote in the upcoming vote, and it is thus outrageously misleading.
Alternatively an EU citizen could say “gov’s webpage entitled ‘Registering to vote in General Election’ says we can register, thus gov is directly implying we can vote in that election, and if it turns out we can’t maybe we should take them to court”? Just thinking aloud obvs
