@Vixxylixxy I had to challenge my son in law on this very item. Completely ignores the fact that Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council has been Tory since it was set up in 1964.
@Vixxylixxy This has now pissed me off very much and you can consider the above tweet as /1 in a series.

The tower was built in 1970 not 2007. For Sadiq Khan to be Housing Minister when he was born is pretty fucking outstanding, I would say.

In 2008 he was appointed to his first /2
@Vixxylixxy ministerial position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

In 2009, he was promoted to Minister of State for Transport.

At no time has he ever been the Housing Minister.

Next up is the claim that Sadiq Khan produced a report /3
@Vixxylixxy saying that the Fire Services did not need any more funding. Fact checks says denied. In 2016, Sadiq actually stopped any further cuts taking place.

After the decimation of Bozo's time in office, he ordered a report into the Fire Service and stopped any further cuts happening /4
@Vixxylixxy This can be easily checked here.

As to blocking funding, you would do better to name and shame Amber Rudd as Sadiq authorised a £6.8 million injection back in March 2019.

Now let's look at the cladding claim. /5
@Vixxylixxy That's a little more difficult to unpack. So let's start with the company who installed it. It was a company called Rydon and they installed it in 2016. Was it installed to improve the health & safety? Was it installed to make the building safer? Was it even installed to /6
@Vixxylixxy make the building more energy efficient? It's no to almost all of the above. The work was partly done to improve the look of the building at a low cost. Who was this work approved by? Well by none other than the Tory council who has run the borough since 1964. /7
@Vixxylixxy And it had been planned since 2014 for the main purpose of rain-proofing and making the tower look pretty.

As to who approved the use of the cladding in the UK construction market, it's never been debated so it sounds like the generator of the meme /8
@Vixxylixxy just wanted to find a way to scapegoat the EU, Climate Change and the Labour party with something that few will ever look into to find the actual source. The fact that Omnis Exteriors were asked to provide Reynobond PE cladding, which is £2 cheaper per square metre than /9
@Vixxylixxy the alternative Reynobond FR, which stands for “fire resistant” is something I find quite telling. Anyone that wants to looks this up for themselves should look at designingbuildings.co.uk/wiki/ACM_cladd… and the Guardian article mentioned within it.

Last but not least, let's look at the /10
@Vixxylixxy final claim that Jeremy Corbyn voted against and I quote, painfully, "inslallation Of sprinkler syatems". Without even going into the GBH being carried out against the English language, I will let the Reality Check article inform and aid you all

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan… /11
@Vixxylixxy First up, the last HSE act to be voted on was the HSE 1974 Act where all HSE funkiness was devolved to the HSE Executive. This is an independent governmental body who looks after such things as making sure which FAFA should be used to fight an electrical fire. /12
@Vixxylixxy So how Jeremy (aged 25) could have voted on the HSE act 9 years prior to him entering the HoC is really going into TARDIS country.

I know it takes time to check these idiotic claims out, but if I can dig out the info to prove how much #fakenews this meme is, you can too. /ENDEX
@Vixxylixxy #NODUFF One last thing, Grenfell Tower was started in 1970 and not finished until 1974 so apologies for my earlier slightly inaccurate post. Either way @SadiqKhan amazing work at being Housing Minister at 4.
