In late May/early June 2017 it was pretty extraordinary to see this occurring in real time, on ground. It was there for everyone to see.
& yet last time there was no Con+UKIP arrangement or discussions. May just absorbed the UKIP vote. This time PM welcomes BXP standing aside

One other thing: After 2017 GE, some Con MPs who won close seats where theyd encouraged UKIP to stand (partly by encouraging former Labour supporters towards UKIP) pointed me to seats lost where UKIP didn’t stand, where at least some of the 2015 UKIP vote went to Labour eg👇🏾
