Griffiths points to #UNSC positive signs indicating that a momentum is building to reach a political settlement in #Yemen including the Riyadh agreement, the reduction in the tempo of the war, and the progress in implementing the Stockholm agreement.

Griffiths to #UNSC: “In the last two weeks, there were almost 80% fewer airstrikes nation-wide than in the two weeks prior. In recent weeks, there have been entire 48-hour periods without airstrikes for the first time since the conflict began."

Griffiths to #UNSC: "The cessation of missile and drone attacks on Saudi territory announced by Ansar Allah on 20 September has been sustained for a second month in a row.”

Griffiths to #UNSC: “We have seen continued positive signs in #Hudaydah. The establishment of the Cease-Fire Enhancement and De-escalation Mechanism has allowed a 40% reduction in the number of security incidents in Hudaydah.”

Griffiths to #UNSC: “Since the creation of 5 Joint Observation Posts on the frontlines, we have observed a decrease of approximately 80% in the number of security incidents in the city. Indeed, for several days in a row, there were no incidents in the city at all.”

Griffiths to #UNSC: “I fully support & endorse all efforts which reduce the war in #Yemen. The #UN continues to uphold its responsibility to bring the parties closer to ending the conflict. What is taking place at the moment lays the necessary groundwork for that process.”
