Remember Christa Jones?

She's the Census Bureau official who talked to Hofeller about adding a citizenship question in 2015.

The DOJ just released a new batch of her emails that were "inadvertently not produced in discovery."

They're pretty damning.

The emails show Jones developing a false justification for the census citizenship question—by claiming that it's necessary to enforce the Voting Rights Act.

This rationale comes straight from her friend Thomas Hofeller.

Who, DOJ said, played NO role in crafting the question.

@hansilowang This news comes on the heels of the revelation that top DOJ officials also coordinated directly with Thomas Hofeller, then lied about it under oath.

@hansilowang For instance, Mark Neuman—an advisor to Wilbur Ross—testified that he had not discussed the citizenship question with Hofeller.

@hansilowang Hofeller is the guy who wrote that a census citizenship question “would clearly be a disadvantage to the Democrats” and “advantageous to Republicans and Non-Hispanic Whites.”

We now have proof that he played a huge role in developing a false rationale to cover up this racism.

@hansilowang This failed attempt to conceal the true motive behind the census citizenship question was incredibly sloppy.
