Ultimately the asymmetry of power between the USA and the UK would be enormous. We would need a deal, especially if our EU one is barebones as Barnier suggested yesterday. And the Americans would know it.
Even more important than this single example is that it has revealed the autocratic way the Government sets about Trade negotiations -as if it’s learned nothing from Brexit.

A reminder from the BMJ investigating how this would impact on drug prices. Likely rise from £18 bn a year to £45 bn a year because UK loses its ability to negotiate drug prices or to import generic drugs under a trade agreement with the US

It seems that Guido is trying to assert that a trade deal with the USA would result in cheaper drug prices.
You would think that they would have troubled to find out the USA’s own Trade policy on sales of medicines etc.
