In a cohort of alarming candidates Sarah Pitlyk who the Senate will vote on today stands out. Found “unqualified” by the ABA,she has no trial experience & is nominated for a seat on the trial bench.She embraced bizarre racial abortion conspiracy theories. naacpldf.org/press-release/…
Nominated for a seat as a trial court judge, Pitlyk has no trial litigation experience. This is the kind of thing Sen. Kennedy used to care about.

@KellyannePolls @NAACP_LDF Karlan supervised me in my first cases at the @NAACP_LDF. "That lady" was brilliant, uncompromisingly dedicated to excellence & always prepared - all in the service of ordinary African American men & women in the South. Take your silly, stale "elitist" talking points elsewhere.
@KellyannePolls @NAACP_LDF Karlan has educated thousands of students, written brilliant scholarly articles, and continued to litigate. Her focus always on our Constitution, the faults in our democracy, and the way our laws work in the lives of those who are marginalized.

The Chief Law Enforcement ofcr of the United States is speaking here to police, not "communities." His remarks serve as an invitation to police to "stand down" in the face of "disrespect" & is a violation & betrayal of the AG's oath as a law enforcement ofcr.
The obligation of public officers - whether police, the AG, or the President - to fulfill the oath and requirements of their office is not contingent on an acquiescent, unquestioning public. Not in a democracy.
"Some communities" have courageously and correctly demanded that police officers conduct themselves in accordance with the Constitution. The AG is in fact the authority empowered to do so under the Law Enforcement Misconduct Statute justice.gov/crt/law-enforc…
