have been caring for her. They have also answered her questions and not dismissed her concerns. Months ago I told @SanfordHealth that I feared they were not adequately caring for my daughter and were dismissing her to implicit biases as well as blatant judgements. I was 2/
assured by patient relations that was not case. Obviously it was the case as the physician at the hospital she is currently in are dumbfounded this was not caught much earlier. How you treat patients matter. It’s critical as physicians you are not making judgements 3/
personal biases and judgements in healthcare CAN and do harm. She should never have gotten to point that just blood was coming out of her. Thank God for astute #ER #physician as she did not even mention her increased pain or blood as she had been dismissed. She was struggling 4/
with migraines and breathing. The ER physician luckily started asking questions to the pt she disclosed the bleeding and pain. 5/
She had been dismissed so much by Sanford regarding blood and pain she felt it ‘unworthy’ to mention it. She is an absolutely different ‘patient’ bc she has been treated with care and respect. She there is not seen as ‘difficult’. /6 #Listen #PatientVoiceMatters
