Unfortunately, these are not just empty words.

Over the past five years alone we have seen £15 billion of NHS contracts awarded to private providers.

That is an 89% increase since 2015.

The truth is the Conservatives have being doing both for many years.

So please use your vote wisely on Thursday and help protect the NHS for many years to come.

1. A&E waiting times are now the worst since records began.

In 2009 just 2% of patients waited over 4 hours in A&E - by 2018 this had risen to 15%.

The common response we receive is: “So what? As long as it’s still free for me.”

But we'll all be worse off if the use of private providers continues to grow and here’s why…

1. The NHS payment system is complicated. Hospitals get ‘paid’ with government funds for each case or procedure they perform.

Private providers can and do receive this 'payment' instead, winning £15 billion of NHS contracts over the past 5 years.

2. But private providers deliberately target stand-alone, ‘profitable’ services that are quick and straightforward, like orthopaedics.

Jeremy Hunt 54 +8
Michael Gove 51 +10
Sajid Javid 38 +5
Rory Stewart 27 -10
Gove just 3 votes away from Hunt now, and could overhaul him with Stewart and Javid's votes
Seems Stewart and Javid both lost votes because MPs think they can't win, but Javid gained some from Raab's backers

At a time when a handful of Tory members are about to decide who the next UK Prime Minister will be, this matters, not least because some of Tory leadership front-runners including Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Dominic Raab are tied to this network of thinktanks and lobbyists.
This network is tied to major US funders of climate science denial including the Koch brothers and Robert Mercer, who also bankrolled Donald Trump. It is influencing UK politics at the highest level, pushing for a hard or no-deal Brexit and a US-UK free trade deal.
