When you go to vote can you ask the people on the door what turn out has been like.

Good chance high turn out might put a spanner in Johnson’s works (hopefully in every way!)
Report : East Surrey - terrible weather and rural polling station, turnout high.
Brisk business Bristol East. Constant stream.
Hertfordshire and Liverpool : brisk business. Constant stream.
Yeovil ....queued behind 6 to register to vote at ten past nine ....first time I have ever queued ....& 3 behind me ...chucking it down outside .....high hopes, fingers crossed Marcus Fysh will be out 🙏✊👊🔶🇬🇧🇪🇺⚓️
Wirral: Brisk
Reading West. Never been this busy.
Filthy weather since before sunrise here in W Dorset. Forecast to dry mid afternoon for a couple of hours.
Voting slow till 9, then “steady”
No queue but constant churn @ 11

Only a 20 000 majority to overturn 🙄
Ho hum
Guildford...potential swing seat.

Teller at the door.

“turnout was high. That’s a sign the Tories are going to lose a key swing seat.”
I can confirm that the polling stations here in Kingston & Surbiton are busy despite the wind and rain. Hopefully there's a lot of sup support for Ed Davey.

“At my polling station this morning at 7 am there were lots of people waiting for the doors to open. Were a very small town, I've just walked past again and a steady flow of people going in... keighley and ilkley”
Ashford tellers. “Ashford : she said it's been constant which was a surprise to her due to the wind and rain.”
“Huntingdon- a queue before we got there. The lady at the desk said it was busier than the referendum”
Bracknell. Steady stream.

“My polling place in #GlasgowEast a SNP/Labour marginal has seen brisk activity beyond what was seen in 17 according to the clerks. Was only 75 votes in it last time.”
North Taunton

Slow first thing but from 9 am it has been a steady constant stream, the busiest ever for a GE.
Canterbury and Birmingham similar to NTaunton.

Good turnout.
Interestingly, the two highest turnouts in UK GE history - 1950 (83.9%) and 1951 (82.6%) - both resulted in really narrow majorities.

Attlee achieved a majority of 5 in 1950 and the 1951 election gave Churchill a majority of 17.
Thanks to @FanaticRealist for that little historical fact... feel free to proffer more if it seem relevant everyone!
Vale of Glamorgan. Higher than normal

Bracknell steady stream

Winchester good turnout.
Broxtowe : more than usual.

“Steady looking stream at my polling station in Linglithgow and East Falkrik.

Same as the station slightly further down the road. Both consistent flow”
Brisk clevedon N Somerset
Maidstone Kent the tory has a 17000 majority but a they said the turnout was higher than 2017 lot more youngsters than usual turned out apparently
Cheltenham. Just voted. There have been queues and more young people.

Steady stream still at 3.50 pm.

Feels like higher turnout than 2017 and they think maybe even than the ref.
Chippenham “good turnout” according to polling station staff at 10.45am 🙂

Brigg & Coole. Busy.
Monmouthshire: well-heeled country village: the turnout has been exceptionally high, the clerk said. There were certainly a lot of people for mid afternoon in the rain. But exactly what that means here, I really don't know...
Mid Sussex, it was busy when I voted at 9am (my normal time) and normally I'm the only one there.

Wife said it was busy when she voted at 3pm. Neither thought to ask the polling clerks
Hove has been extremely busy all day..
Look at the queues in the rain in Canterbury

Two photos

This is concerning
There are special arrangements for Irish voters resident in the U.K.

NOT treated as EU citizens
Should be able to vote.

Good job she persisted.
Could any Irish who are having trouble attach information inc Constituency

A British citizen turned away here.

Insist on speaking to the Responsible returning Officer immediately.

There will be one on duty.

Insist on your right to vote.

“Voted in part of Greater Manchester c16:00 Told they’ve had about 800 ballots cast when usually it’d be 2-3 hundred by now.
Great for democracy, but it’ll be a long night awaiting results. :) “

Busy in Cheadle too.

This is going to be interesting.
Betting titbit.

If you had placed £10 on a hung Parliament at 8am today (when the odds had already been going down due to early queues etc) you would have won £27 if there WAS a hung Parl.

At 17.36. The same £10 would have returned £17.60

Keep voting tactically
Don’t give up
South Norfolk - wet and cold. But voting still “brisk"

Leeds. High turnout...except in the usually high Tory wards.
Interesting Guildford update
There have been no Tory tellers in any polling stations all day so cannot do a Get Out The Vote operation. We think they’ve all been diverted to Esher and Walton to protect Raab. Either they think they’ve got it in the bag or they have given up 🤞
Taunton Deane: “My own experience at one polling station was that it was busy almost all of the morning.

Comments from office seem to indicate that this is replicated right across the constituency.”
Nearly £17million has been placed in bets on this election, recorded through Betfair about 10 mins ago.

Have we gone mad?

“Just heard from the grassroots grapevine that there's an hour-long queue in Lincoln!
I've never known voting queues like this in this country! Let alone on a cold, dark winter evening!”

Elsewhere people voting after late night shopping.
@heidiallen75 “Pleased to report a high turn out at the metropolis that is Elsworth polling station... guesstimate is above 70% 🤞 @IanSollom - heading to London now, but with you in spirit xx”

South Cambridge.
“Worth highlighting that while the exit poll is excellent it's not infallible too. For instance the 2015 exit had the Tories on 316 seats (including speaker), they got 332. That kind of error the other way would have been 300. Three quite different situations for the country”
The Betfare odds on a hung Parliament are widening quite a lot....so less likely
Sky. Ipsos Mori. Exit poll. Tories won big.

368 Conservative.

191 Labour Big losses.
“Worst performance since 2nd WW.” And we all know why

55 SNP

13 Lib Dem

1 Green
