I haven't yet watched the #ByWhatStandard @FoundersMin film. I've seen enough of the promotional material to know that the CRT/I discussion plays a significant role. Let me reiterate something I've chosen to do personally that, if we all would do it, would improve the SBC:
I have determined from this point forward to vote against any SBC resolution for which I do not fully understand it and have a strong, pre-existing opinion that agrees with the resolution.
Resolutions that are the opinion of a committee rather than the opinion of the messengers (a) make a mockery of the process and (b) have proven to be divisive.
I should make clear, I’m not@hating on the committee. I’m just saying that we need to improve our process.

Very important data-based analysis, not unrelated to my earlier interaction with @BethMooreLPM's remarks at the @ERLC National Conference. And yet, just as I commented about her remarks, the blurring of spousal and sexual abuse may be a weakness we need to keep in mind.
This study suggests that one of my hypotheses in my article was ill-advised—that Complementarian thought may contribute to spousal abuse. To the contrary, it appears that it may actually reduce spousal abuse. praisegodbarebones.blogspot.com/2019/11/intera…
And yet, with regard to sexual abuse, there remains the steady drumbeat of reported abuse by the most churchgoing population of all: people who are employed by churches and high-ranking church volunteers. But this is SEXUAL abuse—not considered according to the @9marks footnote.

From the manifesto, it appears that the gunman is as racist as George Wallace, as anti-immigration as Peter Brimelow, as green as AOC, as anti-corporation as Ralph Nader, and as pro-gun as Charlton Heston—a strange blend of angst and polarization that gives something to everyone.
I'm no expert, but it appears to me that the common thread here is polarization and hatred. He's picked up strands from Right and Left, but each is a theme that gives rise to vitriol and vilification on one side's part or the other's.
While every pundit and candidate and campaign manager and lobbyist puts the finishing touches tonight on their remarks that will make it clear why this is those other people's fault, maybe it's time for us all to consider whether it's ALL our fault?

Yesterday I mentioned in passing that I do not agree with the present idea of the "non-staff elder." That escalated quickly. :-) Here's an explainer thread.
First of all, @JonathanLeeman is a friend, and it's just frustrating and unpleasant that a tweet I meant for good (patting him on the back for a great article that I wanted to affirm) wound up only generating conversation about this area in which we disagree.
He and I know that we disagree about this. We've discussed it quite a bit with one another. We're stronger friends afterward than we were before. I think we would both say that we'd rather be talking about the areas in which we agree.

Pay attention to How excluded, ravenously angry, and moralistically shunned conservatives & reactionaries are at academia, literature, the arts, social media, entertainment, culture, sports, activism, youth culture, city life, and professional class jobs.
On the one hand, it’s just a ploy inasmuch as neoliberal Austerians promote rhetoric against it. Koch funds Atlas funds Peterson. It’s used as a cultural method to legitimate privatization, austerity, marketization, enclosure, monopoly & exclusion.
For all of their flaws & their role in indoctrination & creating a class of pliant but skilled laborers or managers, it drives neolibs up a wall that education, media, academia, science, social media, entertainment & art still bear some semblance of a public good.

Day 2 of this very busy week. Unfortunately #Pint19AU & #A3Dscimeet19 colliding the same days and work/life balance made me arrive late for #A3Dscimeet19 1st session about the ASKAP. Kid school starts at 9:20am 45 min away from here. Mum will pick him up from aftercare at 6pm
Otherwise mum would have changed her working hours to start later, she would have taken him to school while I would have been prompt at 9am for #A3Dscimeet19, and I would have picked him up from aftercare at 6pm...
