From the manifesto, it appears that the gunman is as racist as George Wallace, as anti-immigration as Peter Brimelow, as green as AOC, as anti-corporation as Ralph Nader, and as pro-gun as Charlton Heston—a strange blend of angst and polarization that gives something to everyone.
I'm no expert, but it appears to me that the common thread here is polarization and hatred. He's picked up strands from Right and Left, but each is a theme that gives rise to vitriol and vilification on one side's part or the other's.
While every pundit and candidate and campaign manager and lobbyist puts the finishing touches tonight on their remarks that will make it clear why this is those other people's fault, maybe it's time for us all to consider whether it's ALL our fault?
A kid walked out of college convinced that he had no future because corporations are evil, immigrants are invaders, the environment is doomed, the races are polluted, and automation is insurmountable. He eventually threw up the fears he was fed in a fusillade in Walmart.
Maybe instead of this being the time to turn up the heat, we could all consider responding by treating one another like human beings.

This kid went to college with the kids from my church. Just up the road. For all I know, he saw retweeted comments of mine at some point.
So, I'm just doubly resolved to be more careful online. I don't want anyone ever to shoot up anyplace while mouthing in some manifesto words they are repeating from my Twitter.

God's bigger than all of it. Fear not.
