I love it how it's a major controversy that a man who was bad to animals and served time is given a meaningless role in a meaningless game, yet an NHL star who openly supported Putin's invasion of Ukraine and promotes a dictatorship is celebrated by fawning media every day.
This is perfectly logical because here, American dogs are much more deserving of sympathy than Ukrainian humans.
You can call me insensitive and a dog-hater (not true, I'm perfectly fine with dogs, especially is skilfully prepared) but I hold to an old-fashioned notion that supporting a war of conquest is more worthy of an outrage than being bad to dogs a long time ago, having served time.
