I cannot even express the rage I felt watching this. We need to seriously discuss why we have police officers permanently located in schools and what about our culture makes us think this is ok. You can start by reading Bryan Stevenson in 1619 Project: nytimes.com/interactive/20…
I don’t believe in violence but I don’t know how that child’s parent kept herself from tearing that whole school down. And that baby will never see school the same after this.

@thomasfullerNYT @joshhaner Journalistically, these are the places we should be going, the stories we should be telling, and the storytelling techniques used here respect both our time and their humanity. What they reveal here is in a word: Immoral.
@thomasfullerNYT @joshhaner It's striking to me that virtually no political candidates, no matter their politics, are addressing the dire poverty of so many Americans. We have valorized this mythical middle class while judging the poor unworthy of our resources and attention. I feel ashamed.

I can appreciate @StribOpinion running pieces counter to the #1619Project. Honest debate is appreciated. But to dedicate this much real estate while providing no access to the original project seems really, well, trashy. Especially now, nearly four months out.
Also, wonder about the fact-checki g project since some of the things she accuses the project of not doing, it actually does. Which one would know if one actually read it.
Like, it’s amazing to accuse the project of being simplistic and misleading and then going on to summarize 100 years of racial apartheid, terrorism and legally sanctioned subversion of the 13,14,15 amendments in a single sentence about Brown v Board of Education.

So she is trying to say, among other things, that by July, whether or not Johnny abused her was no longer in question & both parties had moved on. That's why her then lawyer (Spector) didn't "fully cross examine the officers"....ludacris!⬇️
And she is wanting to show them pictures of injuries, that don't even match from picture to picture...along with photos of nonexistent penthouse damage....in hopes they will recall it differently, nearly 4 years later.⬇️
