The author makes a powerful point. There are lots of reasons to think the Withdrawal Agreement might contravene EU law. If these points aren't tested now they are liable to cause chaos if, later, the Withdrawal Agreement is found to be unlawful. verfassungsblog.de/brexit-and-the…
Let me cite just one example. A Dutch judge, formerly Vice President of its Supreme Court, held the removal of EU Citizenship rights from UK citizens on Brexit was arguably unlawful. waitingfortax.com/2018/02/07/a-s…
The compatibility of the Withdrawal Agreement, which effectively removes EU citizenship - expressed by the Treaties to be "additional to" national citizenship - rights from UK nationals with EU law is likely to be tested in the CJEU post Brexit.
Failing to test the compatibility with EU law of the Withdrawal Agreement obviates the prospect of the EU seeking reciprocity for its citizens in the UK.

BBC's Editorial Guidelines say:

The BBC totally dominates the news agenda in the UK and Laura Kuenssberg is the most important journalist at it. These remarks are a long way from the proper conduct of an independent broadcaster. If the complaint is dismissed I will take advice on legal remedies.

Those arguing for the protection of the rights and dignities of transgender men and women are often told we are "not listening to women". That is a powerful accusation - but does the data support it?
The British Social Attitudes Survey 34 looked at public attitudes to the use by transgender women of women's toilets. 72% of women were very or quite comfortable and only 13% very or quite uncomfortable.
And BSA 37 says that, generally, women, younger people, the better educated and the non-religious are also more likely to have positive attitudes.

This tweet makes me think, with great sadness and fear, about a person I love, who is trans, and who has the same right to be treated with dignity in the workplace and elsewhere as you and I and indeed @jk_rowling.
@jk_rowling I tweeted about the decision this morning. It is not about Maya's right to hold a belief. It is about whether Maya has a right to articulate that belief to her colleagues, a belief hurtful to them, and have that conduct protected by law.
I should add, to be clear and fair, that the Decision is a preliminary decision and doesn't make detailed findings of fact. But I don't see any suggestion in the skeletal findings that Maya went out of her way to be unkind to her colleagues or in a work setting.

Last week me & others objected to parts of the British press pushing the idea that Juncker was "ruling out" an extension. Reasons: 1/ by law he can't & 2/ this spin was on by No10, in a bid to push the deal through parlt. Now that's failed, let's see what this extension is about
Jan. 31 2020 is the date laid out in the Benn Act. The EU does not want to come up with its own new deadline. Shorter than 3 months wd be seen as helping Boris. Longer, as trying to help Remainers by backing a 2nd referendum. So they are likely to take the date the parlt passed

No-deal Brexit threatens pensions & benefits of 100s of 1000s of UK & EU27 citz who aren't citizens of where they live. Thread 1/
EU law guarantees EU citz equal treatment & portability of old age pensions, child benefits & many disability benefits. UK cant discriminate against UK pension holders who live elsewhere in EU. Nor can EU27 stop pensions for their citizens in UK . 2/
EU social security "co-ordination" is one of the oldest - & greatest - legal rights in the EU. Since 1957 EU citz have known they can move around, change job and they will not be treated the worse for it. 3/
