Pelosi doesn't say this morning that getting what Dems consider a "fair" trial is a requirement for turning over the articles. I asked her if that's the requirement, and she said that they "would hope" to get a fair trial.
The process looks like this: Schumer and McConnell cut a deal. Then, the House passes a resolution naming the impeachment managers who will prosecute the case in the Senate. And then after the House resolution is adopted, the articles would be transmitted to the Senate.
But the question is what happens if Schumer and McConnell can’t cut a deal. The two meet later today
