Cold emails are a great way to land a job.

Here's what I've learned:

∙ Email the CEO directly.
∙ Show that you're unique.
∙ Be specific.
∙ Make a bold request.
∙ Have a clear call-to-action.
∙ Don't be humble. This isn't the time to be modest.

Now... make magic happen.

He agreed to come on my podcast, so I took a smelly $5 MegaBus from New York to Washington D.C to interview him.

I’ve been in Mexico City for the past week.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

1) Mexicans have a unique talent for creating experiences like parties and festivals.

2) Mexico City has special lanes for public buses. Dollar for dollar, it’s the most efficient form of public transport.
3) Most of the Mexican food you’ll find in America is actually from Northern Mexico, so you won’t find many burritos in Mexico City.

4) But you will find tacos everywhere! Street food is the best way to experience Mexico City cuisine.
5) Mexico is a big country but it used to be way bigger. In the 1800s, it extended north into modern day California, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico.

Seven years ago I led a team to create the first Google Santa Tracker.

I was not supposed to be in that role. But it changed my life.

It started as a pretty standard call.

I had been working with Upperquad and their founder, my friend Phil, on a number of projects, many of them for Google.

This time around, the Google Maps team wanted a way for kids to follow
Santa on Christmas Eve.

I was one of a number of designers on the call. We all got the same brief.

It was a Thursday and we were going to meet again on the following Monday to share some ideas.

I remember thinking that this was a special chance. I decided I had to take it.

@Twitter I drafted a tweet on my phone but of course, can't access "draft's" on the desktop. So lets maybe start there. The desktop and @Tweetdeck version should be MORE robust than the mobile app not less. Tweetdeck, for example, has no bookmarks, emoji's, live video, polls, gif's, etc
@Twitter @TweetDeck There are SO MANY great meaningful quotes, threads, replies, and conversations that vanish into the Twitter ether, drowned out by hot takes, snark, and 280 character riffs on what some influencer or politician just did. Find a way to collect and resurface this treasure trove.

Okay #Twitter, I need your help.

I am working on a baby project called, LoPark, which helps to identify, and unlock safe and secured parking spaces across the city.

I am looking for a Tech co-founder who desperately wants to solve the city traffic.
LoPark means, Location Based Parking and the mission is to
1) Reduce the mental stress, time, and fuel burnt while parking (nearly 30% car owners burn fuel while finding a parking spot)

2) De-congest roads that are blocked due to illegal parking
3) Incentivize establishments by monetize non-occupied car park space.

Solutions offered:
1: Order from the restaurant, get a taxi pick it up.
2. Use Cut di Line.

Challenge:
1. No Cash
2. I'm a 21st Digital Marketer that still doesn't trust online food delivery in JA
Step 2.
Logs on to Cut di Line:

Findings:
- Not user-friendly (and I'm a digital marketer that can break down any site functionalities)
- I don't know where is open or closed
- I just don't trust spend my $$$ here and I'm uncomfortable in the first 15 secs of browsing the site

As Tiago Forte @fortelabs has pointed out, you can "dial down the scope" of writing by writing a tweetstorm, receiving feedback, and then adapting into a blog post, or some other, larger deliverable. 🎛️
