I get small time today,I will extract few lines from the Book Kwara State in Bondage written by Abiodun Kolawole so that some slowpokes on the streets will learn what Kwarans

actually went through in the hands of this evil Monster..ebami kalo,come along with me..

Extracts on Page 59 -67; Rather than train & empower local farmers in Tshongai in Edu local government,15,000 acres of their land were forcefully appropriated to 15 white Zimbabwe farmers,

ejected from their adopted home state for various atrocities ranging from peasant abuse, exploitation,alienation and damage to national economy. The manner of their invitation,the way their agreement was packaged,the way they were pampered with ultra modern farm equipments,

farm houses (Mansion with 200kva generating set) with swimming pool and other facilities speaks volume of the intention of the facilitators.for six years running the farm which has gulfed billions of public funds (under the guise of loans) is yet to feed the people.

The Governor blew the lead in 2008 when he insisted that the produce from the farms was not meant for the consumption of the people rather for international market.

About June 2008, Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State was in London to address Nigerians of Kwara extraction

living there. At a meeting which was well attended,the Governor told those present that Kwara State has become the food basket of Nigeria.He told them that the State has become the food basket of Nigeria.He told them that the State doesnt only feed itself bt a major food market

for the rest of Nigeria.This contradicts what he told Journalist in May 2008 that the food  produced in Tshongai are not meant to be sold in the local market, arguing that if sold in the local market the millions of dollars so far sunk into the project would not be recovered.

On the 25th of April 2008, the State brought in the first set(83) of the 500 cows imported from the Republic of South Africa in a chartered plane to Ilorin. The cows all females and pregnant as at the time they were brought at a whopping sum of $3,000

(N450,000) each was received by the governor and other Government functionaries as well as traditional rulers. The cows were later escorted to Tsongai,120 kilometers north of Ilorin, the state capital,in a convoy of about 60 cars.

The first noticeable sign of fraud according to the lawyer is the fact that while Bukola Saraki signed on Behalf of Kwara State Government one person signed in the name of Douglas Taylor and Alan Jack for and on behalf of the Zimbabwe commercial farmers.He accused the

governor of using Kwara State as a front to secure his private Agricultural business,an extension of the farm the governor is running in South Africa. To him a situation where we provide foreign nationals with our capital to come and invest in our country is not only unreasonable

funds to facilitate the coming and settlement of the white farmers?.

According to Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo,a former Commissioner for Agriculture in KWARA State,the collaborative agriculture agreement between Kwara State Government and the white farmers is nothing but a fraud.

,it shows the promoter has a lot to cover & gain from the project,a conduit pipe to steal the state's money.Going through the agreement between the Governt & the farmers one could not only notice that it is only in KWARA State that supposed foreign investors could be so pampered

They were provided fifteen thousand acres of land on a lease tenure of 25years renewable; they were provided with infrastructures such as good roods within the farmland,domestic water supply from a borehole,adequate security at the farm house,adequate electricity supply

to the farm, pumping station for irrigation, reservoir and pipeline for irrigation,assist the farmers in sourcing and securing necessary additional local and foreign investment towards the realization of the project,the Government of Kwara State also provided a loan of 35million

naira to each farmers amounting to N1,050,000,000. The state also undertook the processing of the traveling documents of the farmers,their relations and employees that would come with them.

Specifically,article 3d of the agreement states thus: "The Government (Kwara) shall provide to each farmers (15) part financing of the project Government loans (interest free) in the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand United States Dollars

($250,000) and also provide a gurantee for private sector loans in the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand United States Dollars to each farmers on terms agreed upon by farmers and financiers. The state loan shall be interest free

but payable in equal installment in 3years to 5years from date of disbursement. It's not clear today whether the loan have been paid or there is any commitments on the part of the farmers to pay the loan.

Several checks revealed that not only did the Kwara State Government

provide the above stated,it has also provided funds,secured loans of over N4b, and other facilities to the foreign farmers who came to Kwara with their suitcases only. The State Government also undertook to apply to the National Investment Promotion Council

on behalf of the farmers for tax liability exemption for the minimum permissible period and make further application to the councilor and other relevant authorities for any exemption or financial advantage including duty free concessions.
