So the very first question to @vonderleyen (from a student) is about @Telegraph splash today on fears about UK watering down Citizens' Rights protections for the EU...it's all here #Brexit

@vonderleyen @Telegraph .@vonderleyen replies that citizens' right is a "pressing" but "good news" is that all those citizens on both sides of Channel can keep same status for rest of life - its grandfathered in.

But "bitter truth" is that UK will be third country...and we'll have to negotiate.
@vonderleyen @Telegraph She then extols the benefits of free movement..and erasmus and Horizon 2020. Again, what was started at EU28, will be finished. After that, well...let's see.

Message is that it is IN UK's hands.
