THREAD

1)
There are reports circulating about the Ukrainian Int’l Airlines flight PS752 being shot down shortly after take off from Tehran.

The plane crashed near the city of Shahriar, west of the Iranian capital.

This thread will cite many people.
2)
Initial reports claimed engine failure.

However, "Ukraine’s embassy in Iran dropped an initial reference to engine failure as the cause of a Ukrainian plane crash outside Tehran on Wednesday."

Ukraine Int'l Airlines said a Boeing 737-800 involved in a fatal crash in Iran was one of the best planes in its fleet & its pilots were very experienced.

No sign anything was wrong before the plane took off, last routinely serviced on Jan. 6.

Iran will not give black box from crashed Ukrainian airliner to Boeing: Mehr

Simple questions:
Why? What does the regime in Iran have to hide?

Quoting @stillgray:
- If there was an engine fire the plane would’ve slowed down & pilots would’ve made it back to the airport. It kept climbing.
- Fire suppression systems would’ve prevented the plane from turning into a ball of fire.
- Shrapnel damage on wings & fuselage.

From @stillgray:
Remember when Russian-backed Ukrainian separatists accidentally shot down MH17 in 2014?
The investigation took almost two years to complete, even with a Dutch-led int’l task force.
You're gonna tell me the Iranians figured out it was engine failure in 5 mins?

From @stillgray:
This looks like shrapnel damage on the Ukraine airliner, which went down near Tehran.
Pictures 2 and 3 show shrapnel damage on MH17, shot down by an SA-11 Buk surface-to-air missile in 2014.

MH17 was targeted at a higher altitude & while flying at a higher speed than PS752.
Shrapnel played a major role in bringing down MH17.

Surface to air missiles explode near their target to spray it with shrapnel. This increases the impact ratio significantly.

Images from PS752 shows clear signs of shrapnel.

More signs of shrapnel on a motor of the PS752.
Notice how the piercing is towards the inner part of the fuselage.
The first motor has not exploded into pieces.
@stillgray @Kaitain_AZ @Azematt 11)
The second motor of PS752 is also fairly intact.
More proof discrediting the engine failure claims.

In Feb 2019, a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 suffered engine failures, yet the pilots were able to land the plane with support from safety standards procedures.

From @stillgray
"If you're unfamiliar with the SA-11 or Buk missile system, it detonates in mid air in proximity of the plane, floods the cockpit w/ shrapnel & kills the pilots. Passengers die from depressurization & extreme cold while it crashes, usually in one piece."
@stillgray @Kaitain_AZ @Azematt 13)
From @stillgray
"Just think of the SA-11 as a missile system that tracks a plane and then fires a shotgun blast of shrapnel to the cockpit when it gets in range. It's not a high-explosive warhead."
@stillgray @Kaitain_AZ @Azematt 14)
From @stillgray
"The Dutch Safety Board produced this video to explain how the Buk missile system works, and how it crashed flight MH17 in July 2014.

Not saying this is what (possibly) shot down the plane in Iran, though."
@stillgray @Kaitain_AZ @Azematt 15)
A local took this image (L) near the PS752 crash site, clearly showing the control segment of a TOR M1 missile.

In Iran, the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) - designated as a "terrorist organization" by the U.S. State Department - has such TOR M1 units at its disposal.

I'm no expert. Here are my two cents:

-Could this have been an accident? Possibly.

-If it was deliberate, Iran could have sought to shoot down PS752 in order to divert global media attention away from its missile attack targeting military sites in Iraq.

What do you think?

ADDENDUM:
More footage of PS752's last moments.
@stillgray @Kaitain_AZ @Azematt 19)
This video is also circulating, claiming to be a closed-circuit camera filming the PS752's crash at 6:19 am local time (Iran).

CNN: US intelligence “taking a look at the crash” of the Ukrainian Int'l Airlines flight PS752 as suspicions rise about what could have caused a Boeing jet to crash near the Tehran airport shortly after takeoff.

Oh God...

Iranian newlyweds Arash Pourzarabi & Pouneh Gorji were among those killed in the crash that left no survivors.

Images of Iranian students also killed in the crash.
