Reminder: Per the Mueller report and our 302s, McFarland was so concerned by a request from the president at the end of her tenure as deputy NSA that she consulted a top NSC lawyer & wrote a memo about the request that Mueller's team eventually obtained.
That lawyer, John Eisenberg (remember him from Lt. Col. Vindman’s impeachment hearing testimony?) told McFarland it “looked like a quid pro quo situation,” per her 302.
WaPo, on McFarland’s initial statement to Mueller’s team:

"For a time, investigators saw her answers as ‘inconsistent’, putting her in legal peril as the FBI tried to determine whether she had lied to them.”

Democrats also questioned her truthfulness to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee during her ambassadorial nomination process. She would eventually withdraw her nomination to be US ambassador to Singapore.

I’m reading through KT McFarland’s FBI interview summaries (302s) from today’s batch of #MuellerMemos.

According to a Dec. 2017 summary, McFarland was providing information under a proffer agreement.

Background: McFarland was deputy national security adviser under Michael Flynn. Last year, WaPo reported that McFarland had "revised her statement to investigators...after her initial claim was contradicted” by Flynn’s guilty plea.

Much of what these docs say about what McFarland told the FBI about Flynn’s call with the Russian ambassador in Dec. 2016 re: new sanctions was in the Mueller report.

But not this line: “Trump said [redacted] since Trump had leverage to use with the Russians."
