THREAD on Turkish Military Equipment Problems:

1) Turkish media has been freaking out over Greece acquiring 24 F-35 fighter jets from the USA. The main reason is because besides being a purely offensive jet, it is also invisible to the Russian-made S-400 missile defense system.
2) The main reason Trump cancelled Turkey from the F-35 program is because the US fears that Turkey can practice the F-35 with the S-400 and give the intelligence to Russia so that it can overcome the problems it has in detecting this jet. This jet is a huge advantage for Greece.
3) European and US sanctions against Turkey will also target the supply of European and American weapons and defense systems to Turkey. Sanctions are for the attack on Kurdish YPG forces in northern Syria, and its acquisition of the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft systems.
4) France refuses to deliver certain technologies to Turkey as part of the development of a French-Italian anti-aircraft system originating from SAMP/T Air Defense System. But two other critical programs are now threatened with very significant delays.
5) The German manufacturer of MTU engines has suspended the delivery of diesel engines used for the new Altay heavy tanks developed by Otokar in cooperation with Qatar and South Korean Hyundai, to Turkey.
6) At the same time, the transmissions used on Turkish tanks, designed by RENK in Germany, was also postponed because of sanctions against Turkey.
7) Production of the ATAK T-129 helicopter, one of the symbols of the Turkish defense industry, will likely be suspended. LHTEC, a joint venture between British Rolls-Royce and US Honeywell production, also suspended the delivery of T800-4A turbines needed for Turkish aircraft.
8) The Turkish produced BMC Armored Vehicles has been performing terribly in Libya, with the Libyan National Army mocking them. Endless problems with oil leaks, the gearbox, slow maneuverability, badly armored, slow reaction time on the mounted gun, very weak front axel, etc.
9) Turkish drones have also been performing terribly in Syria and Libya, with pro-government militias, the YPG and the Libyan National Army shooting them down with ease. Many of these drones just fall from the sky without being shot down just because of mechanical failures.
10) Greece has acquired top drones from the USA and Israel, and through the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece has begun its own drone program. Time will tell what their quality is like.
11) Greece will also soon be buying new ships from the USA, as announced alongside with the acquisition of the F-35 AND full upgrades of the F-16 to have the latest technology compatible with these jets.
12) This is especially problematic as Turkey's air force was weakened drastically after its top commanders and top pilots were imprisoned or forced into retirement after the coup attempt against Erdogan in 2016. nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/forg…
13) Greek pilots are the best in NATO as announced after war games in 2018 and 2019.

The Greek Navy has never lost a battle since Greece became an independent state in 1821.
14) With these new purchases, Greece maintains its naval & air superiority over Turkey.

The cherry on top now is that the sanctions against Turkey creates massive problems for their own war equipment.

I'm sure Erdogan won't stop with his unnecessary aggression though.
