There was Nation wide outrage on Nirbhaya ,the most brutal one
In 2019 two Unnao cases made headlines & outrage
The Hyderabad horror was another one but I don't see any outrage on kajal & other Dalit women 1/n

Similar incident earlier was reported from the Sambhal district where a 16-year-old girl was raped and set on fire.

Those who want to boycott #Chhapaak ,It's not easy to be an acid attack survivor .
I shall share a story in simple terms of an acid attack which I attended long back.
I got a call from Emergency that an acid attack case is being shifted to ICU .
I went to the ICU ,There was a huge crowd outside ICU with Media people asking me what are doing even before I could enter the ICU.
This was a case of some political rivalry .I told the security person to send the crowd .I replied that I'm seeing her now .I went to the patient
I went there and saw Plastic surgeon was attending her ,so i asked nurses to arrange things & give file
I read the history of attack.
She was a young lady in late 20s
She actually had turned her face ,so the acid just spilled on her neck & chin ,some part of left ear.

Don't make distinctions between "brutal rape" and "rape". All rape is brutal. Stop setting disturbingly high standards for what should shake the nation's conscience. If your conscience was shaken for every rape every day in India, it wouldn't be such a commonplace crime by now.
The first effect of being constantly exposed to a system of increasing violence is that we adjust our view of what is normal. Rapes have become so common and "normal" that now unless rape is accompanied by torture (as if rape isn't already a form of torture), it doesn't anger us.
That is a worrying trend. It's a race to the bottom, a race for more and more brutality. When we normalize rape, we lose out on one of the most powerful moral tools at our disposal - our empathy for fellow humans, & our collective desire to want to reduce each other's suffering.
