3/ If Trump were telling the truth, the potential bombing/attack upon one American embassy would be enough to carry out a significant preemptive strike of some sort upon Iran.
4/ But Trump knows he's lying, so he adds more ketchup to your steak in hopes you won't notice he's burnt it.
5/ Moreover, if Iran was actually targeting four embassies, it would have been wise for Trump not to reveal he knew so — and instead to act as if he had only known they were planning to attack a single embassy.
6/ SUMMARY: If someone is telling the truth, they only need one reason for their actions. But if they're lying, they feel the need to progressively add on reasons. It's a signal they are lying to you — while they're also rationalizing to themselves.
