In an obvious attack against @BernieSanders, @cnn just ran report citing "4 sources" that in Dec 2018 meeting bw Sanders @ewarren, Sanders said he didn't think a woman could beat Trump in 2020. Bernie is forcefully denying it--Warren campaign leaving it hanging by not commenting
Anyone with half a brain (even corporate journalists) can see that Warren's campaign planted this with CNN and those are the 4 "sources." They planted it basically as a he said-she said and by Warren then not commenting (after her campaign planted it w/ CNN), she is essentially
claiming this was said by Sanders. If it was actually said by Sanders, doesn't Warren have a responsibility to confirm or deny it? Obviously @CNN doesn't care about its journalistic responsibility to not just pass off unverified spin from political operatives, but Warren's
integrity is now on the line. She should immediately come out and either say this is what Bernie said or deny it. If she doesn't she is risking not only pushing Sanders voters further away from her---but also losing consideration as VP or any role in potential Sanders admin
It should be noted that @mj_lee, who has been traveling for months covering @ewarren, is reporting this. TRANSLATED: people in Warren's campaign fed this to her, and she spun it into a story with no way to actually verify it was true.
As @CNN pushes this absurd narrative, it also shouldn't be forgotten...it's the @DNC who has granted CNN another debate to host (tomorrow night) despite multiple instances of the network misreporting Sanders polling #s.
It's also historically easy to knock down this high school gossip masquerading as news....@BernieSanders lobbied hard to get Warren to run in 2016 against @HillaryClinton. Sounds like he did think a woman can win--and was pushing the one he felt was more progressive
