Ok since Boustani won’t help,here’s what I think is going on. International Oil Companies r not interested in Leb gas. Why? The list is long &all b/c of political dysfunction. Failure to mark borders, careening w/ no leadership into economic crisis & default, political paralysis.
Would u invest in a 30-yr, billion+ $ project in Leb today? I mean people are pissed they have frozen term deposits for one year. Imagine if your money was frozen 15 years.
Politicians talk of gas being used for domestic market in < 5 yrs. Talk like this is false & scares bidders who thought they joined export deal, not deal where the buyer is a bankrupt Govt w no $ & no infra to consume gas. Must be an export project, which takes 10+ yrs to finish.
I have no inside info but delays are a bad sign when there’s no clear reason for them. MOE says bidders asked for more time,but there’s no new info relevant to the bidding, so why do they need more time (more than 10mo they’ve had?) & why wld MOE give it unless it was desperate? 
So on the one hand, they wave o&g as the savior to avoid having to make tough decisions to face this economic crisis, and on the other hand they’re doing everything to make the realization of a project impossible.Our neighbors are far ahead & the opportunity window is closing

The Press needs to challenge the Govt and Govt officials on these issues, esp those who try to mislead people and shirk their responsibility. Otherwise I’m afraid we’re going to squander whatever resource we may find. buff.ly/2rdyYNa
