So that's the end of 'just-in-time' manufacturing and the death knell for the car/plane industry in all those traditional Labour areas the Tories just won seats in. As predicted, all the Tories care about is deregulating their chums in the city. #r4today

Also the end for UK pharmaceutical industry. Even Switzerland understands it has to align with EU regulations to maintain a thriving, and very lucrative pharma sector.
And as for UK farmers who rely on EU exports, like our lamb industry, I fear they just become completely uneconomic as tariffs are imposed on our deregulated industry, destroying traditional rural ways of life and patterns of landscape management.
Switzerland is quite a sensible model for the UK. But they are quite integrated into EU regulations in order to access key EU trade & achieve strategic goals like scientific collaboration, whilst also maintaining the freedom to have their own trade deals.
