[Thread] 1/ Data would suggest something very strange is going on with @Ghonim's account. Wael has tweeted approximately 3186 tweets since 16th January 2020. His total number of tweets ever is 17400 - since 2009. That means 18% of all his tweets have been sent in the past 10 days 
@Ghonim 3/ as @mkpetkova pointed out, the timing is also unusual. This graph from 17th January until now highlights that tweeting is occurring at all hours, with no expected lulls overnight for sleep etc. Bottom axis is time, size of column equates to number of tweets
@Ghonim @mkpetkova 4/ @Ghonim also mentions @TamimBinHamad more than anyone else, hardly surprising given his most frequently mentioned noun in the past 10 days has been 'tamim'. Some of the most common hashtags include "Close Al Jazeera", "Qatar2020", "enoughqatar", and "wael is an agent of UAE"
@Ghonim @mkpetkova @TamimBinHamad 5/ So to sum up, @ghonim in the last 10 days has produced 18% of his total life time tweets (the account is 10 years old!). These are occurring at all hours of the day suggesting no sleep. Clearly something is not right here. Whether you think Wael has been coerced or is sick
6/ clearly something is extremely wrong. (FTR I don't buy the sick argument). Nonetheless, everyone reading this should do something, either report the account for spam, platform manipulation, or express concern to the authorities that he might be extremely ill & sleep deprived

8/ Some asked about what platforms Wael was using. Mostly Twitter for Iphone, Twitter Web App and very occasionally an Android.
9/ Some have tweeted about whether tweets are scheduled. This is largely irrelevant. Even if it were true (and it doesn't appear to be regular yet) -it still doesn't explain why in the past 10 days traffic from the account has increased from an average of 4 tweets per day to 300+
