Sonmez did something that deserved criticism. After she received the criticism, she doubled down & played victim. Then she posted screenshots with private inf0 of her critics.

She should not be suspended for posting DB article, but up to WaPo if sharing emails is a violation.
With that said, her then choosing to share an email from her executive editor with a competing publication is incredibly unprofessional and I have no idea why her management would ever trust her again.
Why would a source ever trust her again?

They suspended her for what they viewed as poor judgement, and she confirmed her poor judgement in how she reacted.

Anyways, reporters are going to have to accept that part of pushing your views on social media is criticism.

They really think they live by a completely different set of rules than normal people. Sadly, institutions like the Washington Post keep rewarding that attitude, and it costs them credibility in the end.
