Wilbur Ross is trending, which is a great opportunity for a reminder that he has engaged in some of the most blatant—and potentially criminal—ethics violations of anyone in the Trump administration (and that's saying a lot!)
In any other administration, Ross's continued employment would be a national scandal, but in the Trump era, it's barely a blip.
It wasn't even a year ago that a federal judge ruled that Ross broke several laws and violated the constitutional underpinning of representative democracy in pushing to add questions aimed at undercounting certain minority groups washingtonpost.com/world/national…
This is the same Wilbur Ross who, when he found out that NYT was writing a story about his dealings with a firm that has ties to Putin, he shorted the stock, then sold assets.....that *he should have already divested.*

A potentially criminal violation citizensforethics.org/press-release/…
Last year, we learned that OGE declined to certify Ross's financial disclosure after learning that he still owned stock that he had previously claimed he no longer owned cnbc.com/2019/02/20/us-…
Ross also initially failed to disclose his $250k stake in Greenbrier Companies. After becoming Commerce Secretary, he arranged an intimate meeting with their CEO but said they didn't talk about Greenbrier business, which....doesn't appear to be true forbes.com/sites/danalexa…
There's also the time Ross put himself at risk of violating a criminal conflict-of-interest law by discussing business matters with Chevron executives while his wife apparently owned a stake in the company worth more than $250,000. forbes.com/sites/danalexa…
Of course, to be very clear Wilbur Ross serves at the pleasure of Donald Trump, who is very 😉 concerned 😉 about 😉 corruption, so there must be a reason he has allowed this to go on for three years
