My weekend has been a non-stop clown parade thanks to being retweeted by a few prominent figures from the far right. Here is a little thread about what is actually happening when they do this to people like me.

So why did he tell his followers (in a tweet RTd hundreds of times) that i work for the CBC and that it's proof that the corporation has an extreme leftwing bias?

Back in 2016-17, I was pretty regularly on various CBC platforms, notably radio syndication and The Current. After I appeared on an ultra short segment on the National on M103, the far right mobilized to ensure I'd never be on again.
Here's the complaint that they lodged, claiming that I'm too biased to talk about Islamophobia. The Ombudsman dismissed the complaint, obviously, but CBC stopped calling not long after ... cbc.radio-canada.ca/en/ombudsman/r…
Levant and his ilk know that the CBC is extremely sensitive to this. People are deplatformed all the time while the most boring of PR flaks are repeat analysts.

This was all a year before l'affaire Humboldt. After that, of course, it was over for me at most Canadian media platforms.

Even if that means bold-faced lying about someone working for the CBC to anger up the base and ensure that CBC execs will never ask folks like me for comment. Because it works.
