Given Trump/GOP damaging smears of Biden, even risking impeachment, facts in #RogerStone sentencing memo is a good reminder that's *exactly* their 2016 playbook: smear Hillary Clinton as criminal, corrupt, sick etc AND use Wikileaks hacks to intimidate Dems "to drop HRC." Really.

“Barr Slams Trump’s Tweets”—the headline Barr wanted & got… to stop the bleeding at DOJ—of morale, prosecutors & integrity. I believe Barr as far as I can throw him. He’s the guy who did more to undermine Mueller & the truth about this dangerous criminal president than we know.
OTOH Keep the "Barr's Public Rebuke of Trump" headlines coming! Theater or not, Trump will hate hearing its ring in his ear. And the propagandists may jump to Trump's rescue, only deepening the sting.

Trump's post-impeachment "victory lap" was Trump unplugged. A vindictive, broken man, lashing out, needing to whip up more lies & fear to hold the line. The guy brought notes w/ Strzok & Page texts to read aloud FFS!! Like a man compelled to try to erase his guilt. Read & weep⬇️
Aside from lies, Trump's language was so jarring to hear in the East Room of the White House. Here's what he called Democrats, his critics & investigators—by name! Evil, sick, scum, corrupt, bullshit, sleazebag, liars, leakers, dirty cops, vicious, horrible. All self-owns really.
If he wasn't such an asshole, Trump would be a tragic figure. Desperate for legitimacy, he does all he knows—browbeat & destroy others to elevate himself. Classic insecure bully behavior, which he ramps up the more he wants to be legit. Which of course only sabotages his efforts.

DOJ says in a new court filing that two top officials on Donald Trump's 2016 campaign - Steve Bannon and Rick Gates - thought they were getting "non-public" information about WikiLeaks' plans to dump emails, hacked by Russia, that were damaging to Hillary Clinton.
Posting a threatening meme of a federal judge is the kind of thing that can come back to haunt a person if that judge happens to one day decide on how to sentence that person. So DOJ is just pointing out that Roger Stone did that ....

Hello and good morning! It’s Day Six of the Roger Stone trial. Closing arguments start at 1pm but first there’s a jury instruction conference at 10am.
Both sides will get 1 hour and 15 minutes to close. That puts jury instructions in the 3 o’clock hour meaning I don’t think the jury will deliberate much, if at all, today.
My heart goes out to the stakeout photogs who will be outside the court all day. It’s currently 25 degrees in DC.
