I am NOT convinced that 'climate change is unlikely to be as damaging to the Amazon rainforest as originally feared' not least because, as the article states, the latest optimistic Earth system models don't include phosphorus limitations or forest fires!

I don't like the sound of that.

How can one be optimistic looking at models (some of which project partial forest destruction) that omit key factors like forest fires?
And as is clear from the article the combination of deforestation, climate breakdown and other factors means the Amazon Rainforest is in grave danger. Not to mention that we may already be beyond a fragmentation tipping point anyway.
