I’m in Charlotte, where @BernieSanders is holding a rally this afternoon, the 2nd of his events today in North Carolina. This is a Super Tuesday state, and early voting here started yesterday.
“The time for revolution is now!” says DNC member Ray McKinnon, who endorsed @BernieSanders this week. “Don’t let anybody tell you that the senator is not electable.”

As someone who covered many 2016 Sanders rallies, the energy of this event feels very similar thus far.
@BernieSanders "You are not just people who are going to show up every four years and push a button," actress @SusanSarandon says, of the long-term commitment she sees in @BernieSanders' supporters. "This is a movement that is in place, that's going to go on."
@BernieSanders @SusanSarandon "How can the stop-and-frisk man dare to have a commercial with President Obama?" @ninaturner, co-chair of @BernieSanders' campaign, asks this NC crowd, referencing Mike Bloomberg's TV ad featuring the former president. "Hello, somebody!"
Not quite sure of capacity at this theater, but it appears to have nearly been met at this @BernieSanders rally.
So far, @BernieSanders’ speech here in Charlotte is trimming fairly close to his standard campaign trail remarks.

Here’s the view from the stage.
@BernieSanders "This 2020 election is the most consequential election in modern American history," @BernieSanders says.

"Beat Donald Trump!" a man shouts.

"Damn right we're going to beat Donald Trump," Sanders replies. "Thanks for raising that issue. I was just going to get to it."
@BernieSanders That's a wrap from @BernieSanders' rally here in Charlotte. Now, organizers are planning to walk with supporters to an early-voting location, where they can cast ballots ahead of next month's Super Tuesday primary here.
@BernieSanders Organizers say there were more than 2,100 people here today for @BernieSanders' Charlotte rally.
@BernieSanders Just after this event wrapped, @realDonaldTrump's campaign announced that the president would hold a rally in Charlotte on March 2, the day before the state's primary.
