looking for democrats commenting on trump's plan to send *tactical swat units* into cities to terrorize migrant families...
people keep asking me, "what do you want the democrats to do? what can they do?" SAY SOMETHING. at the very very very minimum, SAY SOMETHING.
some time ago after i criticized dems on this front, people *insisted* they were speaking up but i wasn't seeing it. so i made a twitter list *specifically* so i could make sure i was seeing if they did speak up. i rarely check it now. because they just don't speak up. they dont.
you know how easy it is for a member of congress to tweet out "this is bad. this is wrong."?
colin kaepernick elicits 1,000 tweets from republicans any time he says "hello" but democrats practice group silence on literally everything. everything.

They pulled this with my mom when she was wheelchair bound on dialysis and paralyzed in one arm. You have to go to court and fight for it. Which is ridiculous and cruel but that's where we are.
I honestly don’t know what people who don’t have employers who were understanding and flexible like mmfa was with me can do. Time off for doctors appointments, court hearings, just “I have to go sit with my mom” days. I don’t know.
Our country is cruel in ways it doesn’t have to be. And on the right they want to make it worse and some on the left don’t want to push back hard enough. Fuck all of it.

When a Democrat appears on Fox it doesnt pierce a bubble or rebut a narrative. It allows the network to say "see were legitimate, even Bernie comes on, now on to Sean Hannity exposing Hillarys plan to turn us into her demon minions." Theres no upside for the left in going on Fox
Fox's audience is gone. 100% gone. They're not open to the left. Showing up there doesn't change a mind and the downside is infinitely greater.
The funny thing is the “go on Fox” left is almost always the people who have never watched Fox. Whereas those of us who have worked this beat for years know wtf we’re talking about.

Welcome to today's #Trump #ImpeachmentTrial thread (potentially one of a few)! I've been playing around with tags a little in other tweets this morning but for now, I'm going to stick with the two I've used here. That may change later on, though. Follow/mute at will!
Today is going to be procedural stuff. The Senate will have to approve the (completely BS) rules proposed by McConnell. Dems will offer amendments, of course, but since a simple majority rules I don't have a lot of hope any of the amendments will pass. #Trump #ImpeachmentTrial
For those of you just tuning in, McConnell is proposing that this trial have:

Zero witnesses
Zero admitted evidence
Ridiculously little time set aside for opening arguments and questions.
As little sunlight as possible.

People keep asking me "Why would Epstein WANT to kill himself?!"

Because it is a plausible theory that person most responsible for getting Jeffrey Epstein off of the suicide watch was...Jeffrey Epstein.

If he didn't want to kill himself, that is the last thing Epstein wanted.
After walking away in 2008, Epstein went back to his life of jet setting extravagance for another 11 years.

Until July 6 of this year, just over a month ago.
11 more years of traveling the world, staying in some of the world's most exclusive hotels, hobnobbing with the rich and famous, enjoying life in his NY mansion, his New Mexico ranch and, of course, that now infamous private island in the Caribbean.
