Scaggs got the most awful rep, cuz a couple of his mediocre takes became top-ten overplays. It's weird how winning in the moment can you make lose in the life.
In fact, he was a pretty serious player, and he was certainly an appreciator of serious players. Here we hear Duane with him. No one, ever, or at least ever within the range of my ears, would doubt Duane's seriousness.
The song was written by Fenton Robinson, himself a strong player and composer.
