(2/3) Gaslighting is a common technique of abusers (like Trump), dictators (like Trump), narcissists (like Trump), and cult leaders (like Trump). When done slowly, victims tend not to realize how much they're brainwashed. Trump however, is transactional - much more in your face.
(3/3) People who gaslight lie frequently, tell lies that are easily disprovable and deny ever having said what they said. The weapon used most is confusion. They claim others are aligned with them and constantly use projection: accusing others of the very thing they're guilty of.
